Beat licensing and non-commercial use

Understand how beat rights and licensing work on Rap Fame.

Contents

All beats on Rap Fame are copyrighted. When you use a beat to record a track, you receive a non-commercial license. This means you can use the beat to create and share recordings on Rap Fame for free, but with restrictions on where and how you can distribute your music.

What you can do with a beat

  • Record vocals over it in the Studio
  • Upload your finished track to Rap Fame
  • Share your track with friends on the app
  • Receive plays, likes, and comments from the community

What you cannot do

  • Monetize tracks you make with copyrighted beats (for example, posting to YouTube with monetization enabled)
  • Download the beat and use it on other platforms for commercial purposes
  • Sell or publish the beat itself

Monetizing your music

If you want to monetize a track or use a beat on a platform that allows earnings (like YouTube or Spotify), you must negotiate a commercial license directly with the beatmaker.

Find the beatmaker's contact information on the Select Beat screen and reach out to discuss purchasing commercial rights. This is entirely between you and the creator—Rap Fame does not handle commercial licensing.
