I’m Jovan Benson, a blind artist, songwriter, producer, pianist, and writer from the West Side of Chicago. My foundation is gospel and the piano, but I don’t believe good music should be trapped inside one box. I write from real life—faith, Black life, blindness, family, pain, humor, and the things people feel but don’t always know how to say. I’m not here pretending I have everything figured out. I’m a hypocrite evolving, using music to work through what I believe, what I’ve survived, and who I’m becoming. I want to make songs you can feel, think about, laugh with, turn up to, and still carry with you after the beat stops.
