I’m Sterling Kade, and I serve as the Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Sony Music Group. Throughout my career, I’ve been deeply committed to creating spaces where equity, access, and representation are not just goals they’re the foundation. Before joining Sony Music, I spent over a decade at Omnicom Group as the Chief Diversity Officer, where I led company-wide inclusion efforts and helped double the representation of multicultural executives across the network. In 2005, I founded ADCOLOR, an organization that celebrates and uplifts diverse professionals in the creative, media, tech, and music industries. Through initiatives like the ADCOLOR Awards and FUTURES program, we’ve built a movement around “rising up and reaching back.” I’m proud to be a Henry Crown Fellow and honored to have been recognized by Billboard, Adweek, Black Enterprise, and the European Diversity Awards, among others, for my work in building bridges and shifting culture. Originally from Boston, and the eldest of ten children, I learned early on the importance of leadership, listening, and lifting others up. I earned my degree from Bentley University, and today, I continue to mentor over 100 professionals while serving on several national boards including the Ad Council, GLAAD, Bentley University, and Ghetto Film School. For me, diversity isn’t a department it’s a mindset. It’s a commitment to justice, creativity, and shared progress. And I’m just getting started.
