@myelodymusic I completely agree with what your saying. This is not one of my own beats. It's Kozmos' creation, from the group Mad World - also out of Philly. He's a talented producer.. And while I did put this hook/cut together, I wouldn't consider myself a truly capable DJ/turntableist, but it's a great idea - to manipulate the sample. The other thought I had would be to run a light low-pass over the sample during each verse, removing some of the upper-mids and highs.

love the engery and vibes on this one..to give this more of that sauce for a great lyricist to cut a record too and top this production off. be dope if went back in on it to make more room for vocals... those horns that are big through whole track leave very little.. so with them dope cut skills you got...if you went back and created cuts also to the entire beat as a whole to scratch out drops at those key format locations for artist punch lines would be incredible.. it would make that room the vocals need awell as bring hype up to the vibes and engery in big way.. when the beat cuts back in after artist punch lines it would just be awesome..🤘 give the beat movement to hit harder and make the great drums you got going on..you could even automate those drops but sound better as live cuts
