@brucechipz I want to switch since maschine seems so outdated but I'm comfortable with it. tried fl studios but I can't get into the workflow. maybe I'll try studio one

@blitz_bk ah gotcha...I never used Ableton. I had it but I was on Fruity loops and protools for mad long but switched to Studio one now. Studio One seems to be the most universal daw at the moment and the workflow is fast. lots of cool features like double clicking on a wave and it instantly opens a chopper so u can control the loopbar for the whole track while editing your cuts...A lot more than that but for vocals it's mad dope

@brucechipz nah, I use the original maschine MK1. I use ableton to record vocals and mix it but I'm not very familiar with everything.

@blitz_bk Warp basically stretches the duration of the sample once it's time stretched. Side chaining allows you to run the same effects/compression/etc all across multiple channels. It does two good things...One it saves ram and two it allows you to shape multiple tracks all within the same frequency range so they don't clash and all hit clean. I was watching this video the other day because I'm always still learning too and it was a genius engineer talking about the loudness doesn't come from the levels or the the amplifiers, it comes from the mixing. He had lots of examples too especially with bass. YouTube has it all man. What are you using Push 2?

@brucechipz funny, I was planning on looking up what the warp feature on ableton does. I also need to figure out what side chaining is.

@blitz_bk Facts...It's basically time stretch for dummies with Serato and like with my Numark Ns6ii, I can load up a pella on one track and anything on the other and they blend instantly. I had 2pac over Al Greene and it fit somehow. wasn't a banger but it fit...lol...With the MPC though along with time stretch there's warp and warp really makes those hard chops blend nice. shit I use to chop that had little clips in between that was impossible to cut I can do with warp now. it's crazy dope

@brucechipz that's dope. I like serato but I think people should learn how to use their equipment before using serato... I definitely got more fire coming, I'm just getting started.

@blitz_bk Ah man I got so many new ways to timestretch now it's crazy. Lots of people swear by Serato and it definitely works but I found a much better way. Can make anything go to anything 90% of the time unless the rhythm is some weird 11 22 33 4 5 or some shit. then it has to be a rhythm like that. drums in this here is sick. sounds G unit all the way with those hats layered. Keep em coming!

@brucechipz thanks bro. I actually got lazy on the blend. I should fix the hook but it dont matter. I'll probably do it if I put it on my YouTube tho.
