WHITE BOOK CHRONICLES
WHITE BOOK CHRONICLES An NA Recovery Anthem [Intro – Spoken, Dark & Cinematic] What's the White Book of Narcotics Anonymous? An autonomous society, built from a foundation, A fellowship born from desperation, July of '53 — the beginning of a generation. Southern California, where the first ones gathered, Broken lives, battered minds, but the spirit still mattered. I'm an addict, that's a fact, but it ain't my destination, I found a different kind of high in the power of transformation. [Verse 1 – Heavy Bass, Rapid Flow] Why they call it White? Let me get this understood, A little white book carrying a message this good. Not a color, not a cover, not a label on a shelf, It's a lifeline for the ones trying to reclaim themselves. White blood count soaring, got a brother on the line, When the body's sending warnings, better recognize the signs. I'm keeping hands off the pipe, keeping poison out my veins, Got the cabinet doors closed, ain't inviting back the pain. I ain't dancing with the devil, I ain't playing his game, I can recognize the fire without stepping in the flame. Is it Fight Club, double vision, or a matter of time? No, it's one addict helping addicts redefine their lives. [Verse 2 – Faster, Aggressive Flow] Same titles, same foundation, different chapters in the story, White Book laid the groundwork, Basic Text expanded glory. Read the preface, turn the pages, let the history unfold, There's a million different stories in the message being told. Nineteen sixty-two, put the White Book in the light, Jimmy Kinnon helped the fellowship keep fighting through the night. Sixties brought division, political complications, But the need for unity kept alive the congregation. Seventy-two, Los Angeles, WSO came alive, World Service Organization helping NA survive. From a handful of believers to a worldwide revelation, One addict helping another — that's the foundation. [Chorus – Explosive, Anthem Style] I AM AN ADDICT — BUT I'M NOT MY ADDICTION! I FOUND MY WAY OUT THROUGH A DIFFERENT KIND OF VISION! ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE BREATH, ONE DECISION! I'M ALIVE, I'M AWAKE, I'M BREAKING THE CONDITION! LET GO! LET GOD! LET THE OLD LIFE FALL! WE WERE BUILT FROM THE ASHES, NOW WE'RE ANSWERING THE CALL! YOU GOT ANOTHER CHANCE, BETTER STAND UP TALL! ONE ADDICT HELPS ANOTHER — AND THAT'S THE POWER OF IT ALL! [Verse 3 – Dark, Poetic, Clever] They say the same article, I say follow the thread, There's a message in the pages and a history in red. Not a secret society, no conspiracy to solve, Just a fellowship of people learning how to evolve. The symbol tells a story, unity in its design, A circle of recovery, a message through the time. A life beyond the using, a purpose to pursue, A promise that tomorrow can be different from what you knew. I ain't compromising life for a temporary high, I got too much left to live for, too much reason to survive. The past can testify, but it doesn't get to choose, I turned my darkest chapters into something I can use. [Bridge – Beat Drops, Spoken Word] Listen. You don't have to be the person that you were yesterday. You don't have to carry yesterday into tomorrow. You don't have to understand the whole book to begin. You just have to be willing. Another chance. Another breath. Another meeting. Another step. [Final Chorus – Full Choir, Heavy 808] I AM AN ADDICT — BUT I'M NOT MY ADDICTION! GOT A NEW FOUNDATION, GOT A NEW DIRECTION! FROM THE WHITE BOOK PAGES TO A NEW RESURRECTION! ONE DAY AT A TIME — THAT'S MY INTERVENTION! LET GO! LET GOD! LET THE OLD LIFE FALL! WE WERE BUILT FROM THE ASHES, NOW WE'RE ANSWERING THE CALL! YOU GOT ANOTHER CHANCE, BETTER STAND UP TALL! ONE ADDICT HELPS ANOTHER — AND THAT'S THE POWER OF IT ALL! [Outro – Spoken, Slow Fade] July of '53... A meeting in Southern California... A message that crossed generations... And here we are. Still turning pages. Still showing up. Still recovering. You have another chance to live. So take it.
