Them Days

I still laugh when I think about them days Man, we was stupid… But we had fun though We was young, we was wild, we was outta control Laughin' all night, never watchin' the road One girl on my phone, two more on the line Tryna play it smooth, thinkin' everything fine We was broke, we was fresh, we was chasing that high Throwin' hands, talkin' shit, never asking why Now I look back, man, I swear that's the vibe Ain't a damn thing like them days in our lives Back when a pocket full of change felt rich Two bucks for gas, still riding that bitch Old shoes, new fit, still looking fresh Girl on my arm, another one text “Where you at?” — I'm like, “I'm on my way” Knowing damn well I'm with another girl today Young and dumb, yeah, the game was strong Tellin' everybody everything they wanna hear all night long Homie started laughing, now everybody gone Somebody put the wrong damn song on One dude got mad, then he started talking tough Next thing you know everybody standing up Shirts got grabbed, chairs got kicked Couple wild swings, somebody got clipped Then five minutes later we laughing again That's just how it was when we rolled with the friends We was young, we was wild, we was outta control Laughin' all night, never watchin' the road One girl on my phone, two more on the line Tryna play it smooth, thinkin' everything fine We was broke, we was fresh, we was chasing that high Throwin' hands, talkin' shit, never asking why Now I look back, man, I swear that's the vibe Ain't a damn thing like them days in our lives Tripped out, spaced out, staring at the ceiling Laughing at nothing, swear the whole room was spinning Music too loud, somebody yelling “turn it down” Nobody gave a fuck, we was shaking the ground Midnight turned two, two turned four Still outside laughing, posted by the door Talking 'bout girls, talking 'bout money Talking crazy shit, everything sounded funny Had a little game, thought I had every girl Young-ass player thinking I could conquer the world If she didn't call, I wasn't stressing the next Had another number waiting right there in the text But some of them memories hit different today Some of them people ain't around anyway That's the part that hurts when I think back now We was all right there, but where we at now? I remember cold nights, warm laughs, dumb jokes One homie damn near choked from the shit that we spoke Couldn't catch breath, tears running down Just a bunch of grown-ass kids acting like clowns No money in the bank but we felt rich Didn't need much, just a car and a bitch A couple good friends and a place to go Didn't know back then how fast we'd grow Now everybody busy, everybody got shit Everybody got bills, everybody got kids Ain't mad at life, that's just how it goes But sometimes I miss when nobody knew No plans, no pressure, no shit to prove Just throw on some shoes and find something to do If I could rewind, I'd rewind that night Not to change one thing, just live it twice Yeah… That's what I miss. Not being young… Just being us. No plans. No pressure. Just dumb shit and good laughs. Those were the days.
