Being in your mind

The room is dark, the night is cold, So many stories left untold. I hear the silence calling my name, But every morning feels the same. I smile when somebody asks if I’m okay, Then hide the tears when they walk away. I’m alone in a crowded room, Dancing with a shadow under the moon. Everybody’s here, but nobody knows How heavy this heart has grown. I keep saying, “I’ll be fine,” But I’m falling apart inside. If someone could hear me tonight, Maybe I wouldn’t feel so alone. I scroll through pictures from before, Wondering what I’m missing anymore. I wish I had someone I could call, Someone who’d stay when I start to fall. Maybe tomorrow the sun will shine, Maybe someday I’ll feel alright. But tonight, I’ll let these tears fall slow, Because sometimes being strong means letting go. I’m alone in a crowded room, Still searching for a little light to break through. Maybe somebody somewhere feels this too, Maybe I’m not the only one feeling blue. So I’ll hold on through the night, Till the darkness turns to light. And if nobody hears me tonight, I’ll tell my heart: you’re still alive.
