Oh My Soul: The God Within

It all started with a freeverse I did simply because I was feeling the beat and felt like rapping to it. I let my spiritual thoughts flow from the depths of my brain to the tip of my tongue, slipping out with ease over a captivating, empyreal instrumental with lovely string arrangements, angelic vocal tones, subtle yet melodically pleasing percussive hits, and a rhythmic piano accompaniment that sounded like heaven had fallen upon my ears. Often I wonder if a human being's soul can be acquired by outside sources. I question God. Not so much His existence, as I've always believed in a divine presence that guides our journey in this lifetime, but my queries are more related to our connection to this source we call God, Yahweh, El Shaddai, etc. Some call Him Allah, which is simply Arabic for God, while others submit to a more polytheistic view of the creator archetype(s). I ponder the existence of my soul, its bearing on the afterlife (assuming there is one), and eventually broach the topics of religion as means of control, knowledge contained in the Gnostic version of the Bible, and the God within us all. "People and God are inseparable," I declare near the end of my verse. In my perspective gained from extensively studying Zen Buddhism, the self is an illusion created by ego, and we together are all One in the most literal sense possible. So were we created by intelligent design or a random explosion of energy commonly called "The Big Bang"? Considering the fact that, according to historians, even the most primitive civilizations seem to be programmed with an intrinsic predisposition toward beliefs in some type of higher power or powers, it stands to reason that someone or something created us to be inclined to search for answers to these existential questions. While this alone is not proof of the existence of God, when considered with respect to the perfect conditions of this planet for life to exist, religious texts, and synchronicities that are statistically highly unlikely to occur yet somehow still do, I am inclined to say that there is some type of divine intention that guides our existence. Moreover, research claiming that an unknown or "dark energy" is causing objects to speed up as they reach the outer edges of our solar system seems to discredit the Big Bang theory, at least in my mind, because if the universe originated from a massive explosion, then as they spread outward and gain distance from the location of the initial combustion, the objects would be slowing down or at the very least maintaining a constant speed provided no outside force has acted upon them. The mystery of the increased velocity of objects as they reach the outer edges of the known universe contradicts the Big Bang theory based on what I know about the laws of physics. On the other hand, science is leaning more and more toward quantum theory, that is that every possible variation of life, time, and space will eventually exist in an infinite universe. If this is truly the case, then perhaps our lives are no more than the product of one of many random expressions of these infinite realities. My gut feeling is that there is meaning behind life and that God does exist, and religions are the result of collective attempts to make sense of the incomprehensible. Maybe we're in a simulation. Virtual reality and augmented reality technology is becoming so very advanced that the simulation theory is becoming more and more feasible in my mind. It is only a matter of time before this reality is indistinguishable from virtual reality. This doesn't negate belief in God. However, it does redefine Him, at least in my mind, as some type of advanced computer programmer. Despite all of my research, musings, and best efforts to figure out the answers to these deep, contemplative questions, I do feel that the true nature of reality is not what it seems. Or maybe it's exactly how it seems. We're probably all wrong, but right in our own minds, and one thing often disregarded and immensely understated is the power of the human mind. Out of all the vastly numerous, wide spanned range of beliefs, views, and theories that mankind has entertained throughout its long evolution regarding these spiritual elements of life and creation, what are the odds that I just happened to choose the right ones? I want to know what this community thinks about these points I've been reflecting upon. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the song!
