Summer Is Fleeting So Am I

# **SUMMER IS FLEETING, SO AM I** ### **Verse 1 (R&B)** rap Sunset hittin’ different, sky bleedin’ out in gold, But everything around me feelin’ heavy, feelin’ cold. Grampa in the hospital, they whisper what I fear, Doctor say his heart might stop — I swear I couldn’t hear. Got kicked out my own house, nowhere left to stand, Family throwin’ out my memories like trash inside a can. Friends I used to ride for disappeared without a trace, Whole summer I was callin’, they ain’t look me in the face. Relationship breakin’, lies spillin’ in the night, Dishonesty cut deeper than my swtchblade knife I’m a Taurus, built to carry, built to love and built to try, But lately every burden feel like it’s askin’ me to die. --- ### **Chorus (Emotional, aching)** sing **Summer is fleeting and so am I, They say Grampa’s heart gon’ stop beating and I don’t know why. Or how I’m supposed to deal with this when my body and mind are slowly depleting. Still I ride for the people that I love, But summer is fleeting and so am I, And it feels like my heart will stop beating… la da da da…** --- ### **Verse 2 rap All my clothes, all my letters, all my life thrown in a bin, Feels like every door I open just reminds me I don’t win. Tryna breathe but every breath feel like a borrowed second chance, Tryna stand but every step feel like I’m walkin’ through quicksand. I gave loyalty like oxygen, I gave love like it was free, But people take advantage when you strong and never see you bleed. I’m the one who held them up, I’m the one who stayed and fought, Now I’m left with empty rooms and all the pain that they forgot. ---## **BRIDGE sing I been holdin’ on to sunlight like it’s all I got left, Tryna breathe through every heartbreak sittin’ heavy on my chest. Lost my home, lost my circle, lost the trust I used to feel, Now I’m prayin’ for a moment where my heart can even heal. And I’m standin’ in the silence where the warm nights used to be, Wonderin’ why the ones I loved stopped standin’ next to me. I’m a Taurus — built for loyalty, built to carry, built to try, But it’s hard to keep on fightin’ when the summer says goodbye. ### **Rap Verse Yeah… Look— I been fightin’ through the summer like a soldier in the heat, Every sunrise feel like pressure, every night I feel defeat. Grampa dyin’, I’m just prayin’, tryna bargain with the sky, Ask the universe for mercy but it never tells me why. Got evicted from my comfort, kicked out with no place to land, Had my memories thrown away by the same ones I called fam. Friends ghosted me for months, like I never meant a thing, Left me talkin’ to my shadow, left me breakin’ in the spring. Relationship fallin’ apart, lies tangled in her breath, Dishonesty the poison that been chokin’ me to death. I’m a Taurus — built for loyalty, built to give and built to stay, But they whip me for my kindness, drain my strength day after day.
