“Rookie of the Year” gives you a strong concept to build around, and I think leaning harder into that theme could give this record much more identity. There are ideas throughout the verse that could be developed into something stronger, but I’d like to hear the writing and performance feel more intentional and connected to the title. Give us more of the confidence, hunger and personality that comes with calling yourself Rookie of the Year. There’s a foundation here, but it needs more development to fully bring the concept to life.
