CLOCK DONT BLINK
Title: THE CLOCK DONT BLINK VERSE 1 Rolls in the lot, still I count every tick. Breath on the glass, fog covers the wrist. Sold out the block, came home with a slit. Momma still asks why the bills never quit. Pockets got weight but the nights stay thin. Truck in the drive with a dent on the rim. Poured out the eighth, watched it spill on the rim. Stood in the rain till the cold sunk in. VERSE 2 Clock on the wall never turns off its grin. Two in the a.m., the hallway still dim. Left the last cut on the scale with the pin. Told little bro, " Keep your name out the pen." Came from the curb where the curb used to spin. Now the same curb got a Benz sittin' in. Tried to stay clean, but the past keeps the sin. Shook off the dirt , left the mud on my skin. VERSE 3 Watched the same street take the same set of friends. Caskets on wheels, no parade at the end. I count the years by the tires I bend. Each one a story, each story don't mend. Sold what I could, kept the rest for the rent. Never had much, so the much never spent. Stepped over lines that the law never meant. Still pay the tab every time that it's sent. VERSE 4 Tried to go straight, but the straight had a bend. Put on a tie, couldn't hide where I'd been. Came back at dawn with a cut on the chin. Told myself, "Next time, don't go back again." Now the same dawn got a new kind of spin. Coffee gets cold w hile the phone stays on ring. Voicemail from debt that the numbers won't trim. Still hit the block, let the block talk to him. VERSE 5 Hands on the wheel, but the wheel got a list. Names that I lost, every name got a twist. One sold a dream, one got caught with the wrist. One stayed inside, one still taking the risk. I keep the count, every loss adds a tick. Still chase the bag even though it don't stick. Stand in the light, but the light got a trick. Shadow stays long when the light starts to dip. VERSE 6 Rolls in the lot , clock still on the dash. Same second hand, same old second-class. Broke what I broke, now I'm fixing the glass. Still leave the house with the past in the stash. Momma still waits, still hopes that I pass. I keep the pace, but the finish don't last. Clock keeps its grin, never cuts me a pass. Still here at dawn, still broke from the past.Title: RAINY AFTERNOONS INTRO Yeah, yeah Just vibing, you know Mmm VERSE 1 Sitting by the window Coffee getting cold Rain on the glass Stories left untold Thinking about yesterday How the time just flew Life's a funny thing Always something new PRE-CHORUS Yeah, I'm moving slow Taking it all in Every little moment Where I've been CHORUS Rainy afternoons Where I find myself Dusty old records On the shelf Memories and dreams Mixed together now Living in the moment Anyway, anyhow VERSE 2 Walking through the city Faces passing by Each one got a story Underneath the sky Found a old photo From another time Reminds me I'm still growing Every single line PRE-CHORUS Yeah, I'm moving slow Soaking it up now Every little lesson Figured out somehow CHORUS Rainy afternoons Where I find myself Dusty old records On the shelf Memories and dreams Mixed together now Living in the moment Anyway, anyhow BRIDGE Life ain't always perfect But it's mine to hold Every scar and blessing Makes me whole Don't need much to smile Just a quiet space Time to feel it all At my own pace OUTRO Yeah, yeah Just existing, you know That's enough That's enough
