Grew up where the rent was late, hope was running thin, Mama kept a brave face, told us we could win. Hand me down dreams, but I wore ’em like a crown, Had to learn to stand tall when the world pushed down. Cold nights, hard days, still I found my way, Turned the pain into a pen, let it speak what I couldn’t say. Every scar on my heart got a story to tell, Came from the bottom, but I’m climbing straight outta hell Now I’m doing better, got a little more peace, Still fighting every day just to make ends meet. Ain’t rich yet, but I’m richer in my mind, Got a vision in my chest and I’m leaving doubt behind. People see the progress, they don’t know the cost, All the nights I felt low, all the chances I lost. I kept moving forward when the road got rough, Had to bet on myself when nobody showed up. I’m still trying to make it, still chasing that goal, Still carrying my family and protecting my soul. Bills on the table, pressure on my back, But I’m building something solid, I ain’t folding to that. Every small win feels like a stadium light, Every setback prepares me for the fight. I don’t need to be perfect, I just gotta persist, Turn a dream into a plan, put my name on the list.
