Bark Equal Bite

By TD Whole image built like a storefront, pretty glass, nothin’ behind it Say you stand on business, funny, I keep watchin’ you redefine it Soon as facts hit different, now your voice go up, you tryna climb it If bein’ loud made you right, every siren would be psychic You don’t argue your point, you just drown the room when yours get weaker Get uncomfortable being wrong, so every sentence gettin’ meaner Chest out, talkin’ like pressure, whole time you a target seeker Scan the room for who look easiest, then suddenly you a leader Nah. That ain’t standing on shit, that’s picking where you think you’ll win You don’t want smoke with smoke, you want somebody you can intimidate into givin’ in You size ’em up by inches, weight, who quiet, who alone Then mistake somebody’s patience for a weakness in they bones That’s where you fucked up. ’Cause you ain’t met a bitch whose bark equal every bit of her bite I don’t gotta be the biggest one to stay ten toes in a fight You can tower over me, cool, height don’t calculate heart right And I don’t throw shit blind, when I aim, I put the point where I like You pick targets. I pick apart the reason that you picked ’em. Big difference. You manufacture conflict, then play victim to the friction Put a costume over cowardice and call the shit conviction But your courage got conditions, mine don’t come with restrictions You scan the room for easy, I scan to stay aware of the room, Step to me sideways while you wrong, then you don’t gotta assume I’m in your face whether you five feet or tall You need favorable odds before you ever get involved I’ll stand on what I said with anybody, that’s the difference You pick who look harmless, I don’t pick who get addressed If you step to me sideways and you wrong, then fuck your size, come correct when you test You need somebody you can scare before that courage hit your chest I don’t check the height or weight, I check the disrespect. You only hard when you already did the math in your favor That ain’t pressure, that’s a bully with a built-in risk calculator Need somebody smaller just to make yourself feel greater Till the “easy one” don’t move and now your whole demeanor waver Get louder. Go ’head. Maybe decibels can save you. Maybe yelling “I’m right” enough times gon’ make reality obey you Maybe that façade hold up if everybody scared to face you But I’m the wrong little bitch to bet your whole performance against, ain’t I? I don’t back down ’cause the scale say you got more weight I don’t bend ’cause you mad that the facts ain’t go your way You wanted easy range. Now you found somebody who know exactly how to aim Don’t go acting all strange You was bold when you picked me, keep that energy This still the same exchange
