The Lantern at Kufa’s Edge Scene: The interior of a modest house in Kufa at dusk. Tawaa stands by the threshold, looking out into the gathering shadows as a solitary figure approaches. [Verse 1] A knock upon the timber, silent and profound, Like shadows stepping softly across the trembling ground. "Who walks the lanes of Kufa when every door is barred, When loyalty has vanished and every street is scarred?" He lifted up his visor, the dust upon his brow— The thirst of noble rivers was written in him now. I saw the lion's bearing, the unyielding, steady grace: The spirit of the Prophet alive upon his face. "Enter, O pure-hearted! You need not search for space— This humble roof is honored to hold a king embrace." [Chorus] Welcome, O second Hussein, Standing tall against the rain! Where the coward bends and breaks, You are iron for our sakes. Welcome, noble guest of mine, Bearer of the light divine! [Verse 2] They whispered in the dark halls, "Surround the alleyway," As if a single hero could ever run away. He did not read of valor; it lived within his veins— A thunderstorm descending upon the tyrant's chains. His sword was drawn for justice, an unmatched, sacred gleam, Waking a sleeping city from a cowardly dream. No shield could match the terror of truth within his stride; With every step he took, a thousand falsehoods died. They thought they cornered silence, but found a roaring sea, A pillar of devotion that refused to bend the knee. [Chorus] Welcome, O second Hussein, Standing tall against the rain! Where the coward bends and breaks, You are iron for our sakes. Welcome, noble guest of mine, Bearer of the light divine! [Outro] O wound in Kufa's history that time will never heal, A testament of honor carved deeper than the steel. They thought that they could break you and sweep away your name, Instead, your steadfast courage became an endless flame. The night may claim the alleys, the cowards may depart, But you remain forever anchored in every faithful heart.
