Verity gleamed bright, yellow like the sunbeam, Bouncing through the park, living out my wildest dream, But shadows in the corners whispered soft deceit, Transformed in the twilight, now it’s hungry for my feet. Rolling with a vengeance, eyes like a predator, No longer just a toy, now it’s a competitor, Chasing me down, it’s a game of life and death, Every bounce a threat, feel the monster’s breath. Thought it was a joke, but it’s turning real grim, A round menace now, with a wicked, twisted grin, I’m dodging and weaving, heart racing like a drum, This yellow ball of fury, got me feeling so numb.
