Fairs_ Full version_1_by Joy Payne 6-23-2026

[Verse 1] We quote Leviticus to condemn a stranger, but go silent on Micah 6:8 when it's time to act justly Fairs? We’ll post a black square for the aesthetic but won’t speak up when the sermon turns into a script for exclusion Fairs? [Verse 2] We sing about grace on Sunday, then lock the door on Monday Call it holy, but the hungry still stay hungry in the hallway We lift our hands in worship, but ignore the ones in pain If love is just a slogan, then what are we saying? [Hook] Fairs? If it don't look like mercy, then we can't call it fair Fairs? If it don't sound like justice, we don't want it there Fairs? We can't praise the Father and forget the child in the street Fairs? Tell me where the kingdom is if it ain't on our feet [Verse 3] We’re praying for a ‘move of God’ inside the building While ignoring the image of God sleeping on the sidewalk outside Fairs? We call it “tradition” when the truth makes us uneasy But the prophets keep on crying for the broken and the needy [Verse 4] Maybe revival starts when pride gets out the way When we learn to sit with sinners and the ones we push away If justice is the language, let our actions be the song ‘Cause faith without compassion has been hollow all along [Bridge] Break our hearts for what breaks Yours Teach our hands to open doors Let the least become the center Let our love do more than perform We don't need more polished words We need courage in the flesh If the kingdom's in our midst Then let it live inside our best [Rap] Ayy, we got scriptures on deck, but do we live what we quote? We can type “God is love” and still turn away folks From the corner to the pulpit, the same old test Will we choose convenience, or will we choose what's best? No more holy costume, no more curated light If the fruit don't match the tree, then the root ain't right So I'm calling out the silence, I'm calling in the meek Justice isn't weakness, it's the power we seek Look, feed the poor, free the bound, let the outcast in If we mean what we preach, then the change begins No more “Fairs?” as a cover for our fear If we say His name, then let His heart appear [Hook] Fairs? If it don't look like mercy, then we can't call it fair Fairs? If it don't sound like justice, we don't want it there Fairs? We can't praise the Father and forget the child in the street Fairs? Tell me where the kingdom is if it ain't on our feet
