Step Three: Let Go

“Step Three: Let Go” For years I thought surrender meant defeat… Now I know I was losing the whole time trying to win. I spent my whole life gripping tight to the wheel Tried to force every outcome, thought, action and feel Built a castle out of fear, called it keeping it real The tighter I held, the less I could heal Three years old saw love disappear overnight So I watched every room, every tone, every fight Always trying to predict what was coming next Cause control felt safer than trusting the process Carried everybody’s burdens like they were my own Trying to save broken people while breaking my bones Thinking if I worked harder I’d finally belong But I was building my identity on being strong Let go… Of the weight I hold Let go… Of the lie I can control Turn my will, turn my life Something bigger than my pride Step three… freedom starts when I stop the fight I thought surrender meant weakness Thought faith meant blind eyes Thought trusting something greater meant somehow I’d compromise But recovery showed me a different kind of strength The courage to stop running and accept what I can’t change Cause I can’t rewrite childhood Can’t undo the wreckage Can’t fast-forward healing Can’t bargain with consequences Can’t get back lost time by drowning in regret But I can choose the next right thing and leave the rest Some mornings my mind still wants to grab the controls Tell me how the future should unfold Tell me who’s wrong Tell me what I deserve Tell me how to force the universe to work on my terms But peace don’t live there Peace never did It lives in acceptance One decision at a time to live Let go… Of the weight I was never meant to hold Let go… Of the lie that I can control it all Turn my will, turn my life Over something bigger than my pride Step three… Maybe freedom starts when I stop the fight Not my will… But the next right action Not perfection… Just spiritual traction Not certainty… Just willingness today That’s enough That’s enough That’s enough Today I still miss my kids Still carry the grief Still pray for the day they can finally see me clean Still feel the ache from the years I threw away Still got scars that remind me where I came But today they don’t own me Today they don’t steer Today I got something stronger than fear A Higher Power I don’t fully understand And for the first time in my life That’s exactly the plan Cause the miracle wasn’t getting my way The miracle was finding peace anyway And every day I stay clean is another page Written by faith instead of self-made rage Step one… I admitted I was powerless. Step two… I came to believe. Step three… I made a decision. And that decision changed everything. @rapfame_official @rapfame_ar_team
