Tough times
Late nights, cold floors, staring at the ceiling Tryna fight the pain while my heart still healing Everybody got advice but they don’t know the feeling Had to learn the hard way, scars became the teaching I done lost friends, seen love turn fake Smiles in my face while they praying that I break Had to carry all the pressure, all the stress, all the weight Still I kept moving forward even when my soul would ache There was days I felt hopeless, trapped in my thoughts Asking God why everything I loved got lost Fighting all these demons, paying all these costs But tough times build a man, that’s a lesson I was taught Now I walk different, pain made me wiser Had to hit the bottom just to learn how to rise up Every single setback turned me to a fighter Dark nights only made the future shine brighter I remember being broke, pockets full of nothing Still I kept grinding while the world kept judging People switched sides quick, that was humbling Now I move careful ‘cause loyalty mean something Anxiety heavy, depression in my chest Tryna find peace while my mind never rests But I survived every battle that was sent as a test So I wear these wounds proudly like a badge on my vest See the rain don’t last forever, neither do the pain Even flowers gotta struggle just to grow through the rain So I’m speaking for the people going through it everyday Keep your head high, better times on the way.
