Carl story
carI was lonely in a car Mama saw me, she just cried Even dad moved real far Left me hurting deep inside Windows cold, I felt the breeze Heart was heavy, couldn’t speak Fell down low onto my knees Every day felt like a week Empty pockets, nothing there Just some dreams I couldn’t hold Life was never playing fair Made me grow up way too old Rain was tapping on the roof Like it knew the pain I hide Looking up for some truth But I had no one beside Three years living on my own No one checking if I’m fine Turned the silence into songs Put my pain inside these lines Late nights talking to the dark Trying hard to find a way Holding on to just a spark Hoping for a brighter day Walking roads with broken shoes Still I kept my head up high Had too much I couldn’t lose Even when I questioned why Friends were gone, they disappeared When the money wasn’t there All the smiles I once cheered Turned to looks that didn’t care Hunger knocking at my door But I told it “wait your turn” I been through it all before Now it’s time for me to learn Scars I carry made me strong Even though they left a mark I was right where I belong Even sleeping in the dark Now I’m standing, still I fight Different mind, a clearer view From them lonely sleepless nights
