How To Copyright Your Work

DIY Copyright, no gatekeeping. If you made it, protect it. Step 1: save your stems and the full mix with the date in the file name. Step 2: write down the split sheet right now, even if it’s just you. Step 3: register your song as soon as it’s final, do not wait until it blows up. Step 4: upload your lyrics and session notes somewhere safe. Step 5: use contracts for beats and collabs, screenshots are not a contract. Step 6: if you post it online first, keep proof of the first upload and the original files. Protect your work like it already has value, because it does. #rapfame #copyright #musiccopyright #independentartist #indiemusic #nogatekeeping #musicbusiness #artisttips #musicindustry #songwriter #producer #beats #musicrights #musicownership #protectyourmusic #musicregistration #synclicensing #metadata #royalties #artistlife

Question, what if you do not register and it blows up? For example my TikTok channel has over 300 full songs on it, doesn't public posting , especially a full channel show and prove ownership as a brand for example? I know it's best to register them, especially if you only have a couple songs, however in my case it is only my opinion but after establishing a massive catalog publicly am I not covered due to infallible evidence everything is mine? Not trying to dissuade anyone at all of taking this important step, just wondering how anyone could steal even one song form someone that has established a never ending catalog of music? I love your work by the way. Great job. ❤️
