Deathbed
I’m layin’ on this death bed, thoughts heavy in my head, Countin' all the moments, every word that I said, Life’s a fleeting shadow, memories start to fade, Chasin’ dreams like ghosts, in this life that we’ve made. Whispers in the dark, tellin’ tales of regret, Every chance I didn’t take, every love I forget, Time’s a thief in the night, takin’ pieces of my soul, Ralph find the light, but it’s takin’ its toll. Lookin’ in the mirror, see the man I’ve become, Fighting with the demons, but I’m feelin’ so numb, Heartbeats slowin’ down, but I’m still in the race, Livin’ for the moment, but I’m lost in this space. If I could turn it back, rewrite every line, Tell my younger self, “Man, you gotta shine,” But the clock keeps tickin’, can’t rewind what’s done, Just a soul on a journey, searchin’ for the sun.
