Afuya - Tiger’s Blood
This one’s a journey. Creative joint sampling DJ Shadows 6 Days and Sgt Mckenzie’s We were soldiers. It’s trippy, dark at times, introspective — don’t miss out on the last verse Damage went crazy. The cover is a symbol for the Tamil Tigers who were an Islamic militant force genocided by the Sri Lankan Buddhist government in 2009. I’ve been there, awesome island. I could go into that but it’ll turn into an essay, sumn to look into. I’m just mentioning because it ties into the title and the war backdrop set by the chosen samples. I think Afuya has been tapping in - consciously or unconsciously - to the escalation of geopolitical aggression for a minute, seems apt. Letum- Your style works well with this track, you've explained to me before that your lyrics can be very abstract. So it made sense to me.
