Never doing what I’m told

I’ve been living like I’m going insane, Thoughts racing fast, but I’m stuck in the rain, Chasing dreams while I’m tethered to pain, But I rise up, yeah, I’m breaking the chain. Most times I sit and try to contemplate, Counting blessings, man, I’m feeling so great, Life’s a puzzle, I’m just finding my place, In the dark, but I’m still shining with grace. Echoes in my mind, but I’m learning to fight, Every step I take, man, I’m reaching new heights, From the shadows, I’m stepping into the light, Living for the moment, yeah, I’m ready tonight. Cave walls closing in, but I’m breaking the mold, With every word I spit, watch my story unfold, Uplifted by the struggle, got a heart made of gold, Living life fully, never doing what I’m told.
