god is. good
I read their stories, their lives unfold, Through pages of scripture, centuries old. They walked with God, through fire and flood, Their trust unwavering, misunderstood. Sometimes I wonder, can I be like them? Face trials and triumphs, again and again? This world feels heavy, my spirit grows weak, It’s that kind of courage my soul truly seeks. Oh, I want to be like the people of old, With stories of faith, brave and bold. Like Daniel in the lions' dark den, Or David facing giants again. A heart that trusts, a spirit so true, With nothing left to fear, Lord, just You. Yeah, I want to be like them, standing tall, Answering Your whisper, answering Your call. I want to stand firm, like Moses once stood, At the edge of the Red Sea, for the greater good. Or Abraham leaving, not knowing the way, Just trusting the promise, day after day. To forgive like Joseph, when betrayal runs deep, And secrets of mercy, my heart would oft keep. Not just the grand battles, but quiet resolve, As daily challenges begin to evolve. It’s not by my strength, or by what I can do, But by Your Spirit, Lord, making me new. To walk in Your footsteps, embrace Your design, Let Your ancient wisdom become truly mine. Help me to listen, help me to pray, To follow Your leading, come what may. Like them, Lord, unwavering and free, A vessel for Your glory, for all eyes to see. No fear in the den, no giant too tall, Just You, Lord, my everything, my all. Make me like them, Lord, make me like them.
