Now the devil sits in the corner of the room often Began with little white lies to escape any kind of pressure... the devil sat in the corner smiling Little white lies grew with me until I lost all measure...again the devil sat in the corner smiling I caught her lustful eyes pierce my soul, it was only a matter of time before she & I fornicated for pleasure...yet once more the devil sat in the corner smiling My idolatry eyes full of greed, I just had to steal your treasure....."yes" the devil was in the corner smiling It came a time I had to pay the price for my evil deeds...I was put in chains Now alone my hands covered my face to hide my fear & pain My lips salty to remind me of how sour times had become as I cried in shame For once in my transgressed life the devil never came The devil had finally left the corner, for there was no care Only then did I realise I had been spared For the Lord heard my silent prayers loud and clear An angel came by & whispered into my heart "God is with you so have no fear" By Tann Anderson Banya
