Overwrite
Pen to the page, yeah, I black out the line, Start with a verse, end up writin’ a shrine. Say it’s too much? I call it divine, Every word that I drop got a rhythm, a sign. Paragraphs stackin’, no brakes, no chill, Brain like a faucet that I can’t ever still. Notebook heavy like it’s forged from steel, I don’t edit, I overwrite — that’s the thrill. I overwrite, yeah, I go too deep, Pages full of fire, I don’t ever sleep. Thoughts keep runnin’, can’t press delete, This pen got a mind of its own, on repeat. Overwrite — I don’t know when to quit, Lines on lines like a poet gone sick. Overwrite — yeah, my flow too thick, Turn a simple idea to a whole script quick. Started with a haiku, now it’s five chapters, Writer’s block? Nah, I move past disasters. Ink bleeds truth, yeah, I flood all rafters, Every word weighed, built like blacksmith crafters. Keep scrollin’, they scrollin’, it never ends, My drafts got drafts, and the lines still bend. Lost in the margin, I can’t pretend, When I write, it’s a saga — not just a trend. They say “cut it down,” I say “build it more,” Each bar like a lock, I’m breakin’ the door. If less is more, then I’m settin’ the score, With a whole universe that I write and explore. So if I’m too much, then that’s just me, I write ‘til the ink runs out, no plea. Call it extra, obsessive, or pure insight — I was born to create, yeah, I live to overwrite.
