WHAT HAPPEND? -E1
What happened to the day when we was out in the sun, Laughter in the air, man, we were just havin' fun, Now the streets are cold, shadows creep like a gun, Kids playin' games, but the stakes ain't for fun. Used to chase dreams, now we run from the heat, Every block's a battlefield, got no place to retreat, Moms worryin' hard, tears fallin' like rain, While the sirens wail, echoin' the pain. Verse 2: Brotherhood shattered, trust lost in the night, Once we were united, now we’re caught in the fight, Memories of joy fade, replaced by the dread, What happened to the hope? Now it's all left unsaid. Every corner's a story, every face tells a tale, Survivin' in the chaos, but it’s hard to prevail, We used to dream big, now it’s just about survival, Lost in the darkness, man, we need a revival. What happened to the day, we was chillin' in the sun, Laughter in the air, man, we thought we was the one, Now it’s dark clouds, shadows creeping on the block, Echoes of the sirens, they don’t stop, they just mock. (Verse 2) Used to ride our bikes, now we dodgin' all the beef, Young kids lost, man, they searching for relief, Moms worried sick, tears fallin' on the floor, Prayin' for their babies, but they hear the gun roar. (Verse 3) Used to dream big, now it’s just survival, In a world where the pain’s the only arrival, Friends turn to foes, trust is hard to define, What happened to the joy? Now we trapped in the grind. (Verse 4) Memories fade, replaced by the fear, What happened to the laughter? Now it’s whispers in the rear, Darkness all around, but we still search for the light, Hoping for a change, man, we gotta keep it tight. What happened to the day, we was chillin' in the light, Now shadows creep around, every corner feels like fight, Used to laugh 'til the sun set, dreams in our sight, Now it’s sirens in the night, and we clutchin' our might. Block’s a battlefield, where the kids used to run, Now it’s masked faces, and the joy’s come undone, Moms worried ‘bout their sons, prayin’ for a sign, But the streets got a grip, and the peace hard to find. Verse 2: Remember when we played, no worries in our heads, Now it’s gang signs flashin', too many tears shed, Can’t trust the ones you know, loyalty turned to dread, In the dark where we walk, livin' life on a thread. What’s the price of survival when the sun’s outta reach? Lessons learned in the struggle, but the pain’s what they teach, Caught in cycles of violence, can’t escape from the breach, We just searchin' for the daylight, but it’s outta our reach.
