you've me thinking about time, like where did it go? it's like I had it in my hands and let it go I wanna let ye know this is my letter home I wanna tell ye that I'm sorry am never home am so sorry that I chose a life off crime when am out, I swear am gonna leave that life behind I know you've probably heard this a thousand times I court I wished the judge would let me wipe your eyes give you a hug, let ya know I'm gonna be alright I was a thug, a proper mug, I was dumb and I must have apologised a hundred times even when you know am wrong you're always on my side I came to jail and I know It tore your world apart you're my light, shining bright when my world is dark in court, I saw you crying and it broke my heart if I never had you, my life would be so hard it's got me choking, trying hard to catch my breath word's unspoken, these same words I've never said I know I left you all alone and caused ye stress am so sorry mum, I know I let you down when I'm out I promise that I'm gonna stay around am gonna do I can so I will make ye proud ye give hope and give me strength when I can't fight ye always know somthings up when am feeling low ye always tell "to be good son, I need you home I wrote this to say I'm sorry mum, ye need to know so when they take away the chains and they let me go when they take me to the gates and let me go home how do I take the pain away mum, I'll never know am sorry that I had to write this letter home
