We went from enemies to Allies I used to be a bad guy But I changed because of you Changed because of you I thought I was a goner But you helped me get stronger But I didn’t know what to do So you told me what to do We went from enemies to best friends Like Japanese and Americans Took me 5 years to make a plan A prayer plan, I used to be afraid of change, now hope is my only way to make a stand Used to feel like a grain of sand on a giant bay, on a lake so grand Was searching for a greater land, a greater plan, Then you came in, said “take my hand”, then I got afraid and ran away, took a hiatus like United Nations Band, saw a staircase and I tried to climb it but the skies brewed a rotten climate, they knocked me down, I quit sometimes, but I came back, when someone mocks him, I hate that, but I just cruise away like a Maybach and wait till God gives them payback and give them the knowledge they lack, they drive you crazy like racetracks, you can’t convince them to stay back like finding needles in haystacks, it’s like being the waitstaff of a busy cafe and having to put up with hustlers, customers, pushing like tailbacks, they say everyday “how can you put up with these bloodsuckers?” That questions not a puzzler, easy, cause that’s the world, brother We went from enemies to Allies I used to be a bad guy But I changed because of you Changed because of you I thought I was a goner But you helped me get stronger But I didn’t know what to do So you told me what to do Why am I in so much pain? Why am I going through so much change? It’s like everyday I’m either in dismay, Or my mind just feels out of range I’m feeling so much weight, waiting till’ my back breaks or when I faint My shirt is always stained from sweat or tears, and pretty soon, they’ll be bloody from cutting my veins How come I don’t feel the same? How come I’m not ever sane? How come It always rains? Get me out of these chains That’s what I say sometimes when I’m feeling gray Sometimes when I’m not okay, when I just feel blank When I’m having a bad day, when things go a bad way I remember Yahweh, I bend down and I pray We went from enemies to Allies I used to be a bad guy But I changed because of you Changed because of you I thought I was a goner But you helped me get stronger But I didn’t know what to do So you told me what to do We used to be enemies Now you’re a friend in me We used to be against each other I acted aggressively But you taught me a lesson So now I just try my best And when I mess up, you forgive me and lift my head up Cause you’re the Messiah Never been a liar You put out the fire You’ll always be higher than others King of us sisters and brothers Fathers and mothers Haters and lovers Spreading from northern to southern Come out from under the covers You will show your true colors The unrepented will suffer So clean out your gutters And don’t be the runners
