Open Your Eyes
I have you know that even though you assumed that Grandpa would've been disappointed in me, that I (we) have succeeded against all odds. Granted that I had my son out of wedlock, it does not diminish the fact that God was with me through it. I faced many challenges, including your hostility against the depths I bared against my savior, nonetheless I clung to him through it. Because HE was my only refuge. I faced many of those who only mocked and criticized my stance on life. Was faced with the challenge of aborting him from my womb, but God named him Bentley before I was reassured that he was growing within me. And that forever changed me from within. I no longer doubted and clung to his life, regardless of the retaliation or the denial of the situation. It broke me heart to understand how unforgiving this world could truly be. I walked with my head hung down, surely deserving of the judgement the world was ready to give me. Even though I chose the life growing inside me. Sure it seemed simple to miscarry or give in to the temptation that was before me. But I couldn't live with the regret of ending his life prematurely. And I'm sorry that I didn't live the life I set out to achieve, but HIS life was far more worthy than ending it so abruptly. Perhaps maybe one day you can forgive me and realize I made the choice with less envy. Life hasn't been easy, but I can tell you know that I have no regrets, because God saved me. And He used the life that was within me. Lord knows it hasn't been easy, but I wouldn't do things differently. Because I know the Lord has been with me. So before you make the choice, please think of me. Life has never been the same since my son Bentley.
