Verse 1: Late nights, tossing and turning in my bed, Thoughts of my childhood, still stuck in my head, Momma always working, daddy never around, I was just a lost kid, with no one to be found, Living in poverty, struggling to get by, Hungry every night, tears falling from my eyes, No one to talk to, no one to hear my cries, I was all alone, no one to sympathize, Verse 2: Growing up, I saw things no child should see, Violence, drugs, and crime, surrounding me, I had to be strong, had to fight to survive, But it took a toll on me, couldn't keep up the guise, Lost my innocence, at a very young age, Faced with pain and sorrow, I had to turn the page, But the memories haunt me, still to this day, Wishing I could go back, and make it all go away, Verse 3: But I'm still here, standing tall and proud, I survived my childhood, and I'm still around, I won't let my past, define who I am, I'm stronger than ever, and I've got a plan, I'll break the cycle, and make a better life, For me and my family, and all those in strife, I'll be a beacon of hope, for those in need, And show them that they too, can succeed. Outro: So that's my story, of a bad childhood, But I won't let it define me, or make me misunderstood, I'll keep on pushing, and I'll never give in, And one day, I'll look back, and see how far I've been.
