I think this is clever, and also, very ironical. The point: what He’s asking of this girl, is something She’s already had - but has lost. But just because something so meaningful isn’t tangible, does it make it any less real? To her? Think about how much we pour our hearts out in music, right? We are saying something that means a lot. We do this because it’s natural to us, but not so much for everyone else. We make music for people. We tell stories. We identify with others, but they need that “someone” that “artist” who gets them. You might not like my music or my themes - I’m very much Alternative Hiphop / Rap. Do I belong here? The jury is still out. If nothing else, I hope I’m inspiring.
