what we are
What We Are I don't talk about days that haven't happened, I don't think about moments that don't matter, I don't care for words spoken without truth, and I don't believe in actions, that come without consequence. Most of us don't get the opportunity to become our true selves, our existence is denied, we are invisible, turning into nothing other than a ghost of our former self floating through each day, listening to stories about the person we should have become. The self we think we are is never accepted, no matter how much we polish ourselves to be someone we are not, just for the sake of fitting in to the box, rather than standing outside of it. We all need something to get us through the day, be it one of the many Gods, or one of the many Drugs, if it gives us strength to overcome our fears of becoming trapped, than it is worth searching for. We will all become who we are meant to be no matter how much we hate it Hope I'm just trying to find purpose, or someone to believe in/and it's been so long since I left, but I just keep on leaving/ everyone behind beacause I don't understand love, or loss, or anything other than the reason/ I keep telling myself that they ain't the one, gotta change again and fall for another season/ but every December it gets colder and I can't stand the depth of the snow/ I know that it just gets deeper, no matter why, or where I go/ 'cause with this life I've been given, I'm still trying to find my ebb and flow/ who knows if there's a point, or a purpose, I'm just trying to find my light and glow/ I guess it doesn't matter if it comes today, or tomorrow, just as long as it gives me hope/ that some day I'll rise above this pile of rubble and smoke/ so I'll get up and stand tall like a new power in me awoke/ feel the force within my heart that I had, the day before it broke/ become a better man than I used to be, rather than a joke/ so maybe I need to crack a few eggs, and get to the yoke/ Bottom I know what rock bottom feels like struggling to reach the top just to breathe, getting pushed back down again because he's talking out loud, it hurts to be the punching bag all the time, I'm sinking, the dark cold emptiness covers me I close my eyes and welcome the relief, Warmth from my tears streak down my face reminding me I do have feelings
