Washerman

Goddess Sita was a Queen of the kingdom Awadh. Because she was abducted by demon Ravan while she was away with her husband Lord Ram and brother Lakshman. Exiled for fourteen years. After their safe return back to the Kingdom. A rumour started between the citizens. Started by a washerman. Who told his wife that “I’m not Lord Ram that will take a woman back after she spent a night with another man”. The rumour spread fast. Like a virus. Lord Ram had to let go of his pregnant wife to continue to run his kingdom. Something like this happened to me when I was schooling in grade eleven. A rumour about my high school sweetheart. For which I first got a student beaten up at lunch. In his high school while I watched. An Indo Fijian. The situation became worse. I fought a street fight next I kept taking punches. Until I was cornered to the back fence. I took a harsh beating for my high school sweetheart. The white boy won. Though soon after I let her go and moved on. I never regretted. What I just wrote down is an example of being enlightened. If I didn’t study Ramayan. I would have never found out why Lord Ram made me spiritually capable.
