PAPER WRISTBAND (Version 2)
4. PAPER WRISTBAND Intro Paper wristband, plastic chair, Cold white room and recycled air. Everybody's hurting, everybody's scared, But nobody says what brought them there. Verse 1 Admission at midnight, signatures and forms, Outside world fading behind hospital doors. Mind in a storm, nerves at war, Same four walls that I've seen before. A patient down the hall screaming into the night, Another staring blankly underneath the light. Staff moving quickly, trying to make things right, While every broken story searches for daylight. Hook Paper wristband, number on my skin, Trying to remember who I've always been. Not a monster, not a failure, not a sin, Just a human mind fighting from within. Verse 2 Acute confusion, fragmented speech, Truth feels distant but relief can be reached. Every small step is a lesson they teach, Some things take time before they're within reach. The ward isn't heaven, the ward isn't hell, It's a place where people sometimes need help. Behind every diagnosis there's a story to tell, Behind every locked door, somebody wants well. Outro Paper wristband eventually comes off, The road after discharge may still feel rough. But making it through when the night gets tough, Is proof that surviving can be enough.
