Blood in the Field
Hook: Two brothers, one heart, one altar, one God One brought faith, one brought pride to the job Abel gave his best, Cain gave leftovers Jealousy crept in, now the ground cries over Sin at the door, God said “Master that flame” But Cain let it rule, now history knows the name Verse 1: Genesis four, first family on the scene Two sons of Adam, different ways of living the dream Abel kept sheep, Cain worked the soil Both brought offerings, both put in toil But Abel gave the first, the fat, the best part Cain gave routine, no reverence in the heart God looked with favor on Abel’s sacrifice Cain got mad, face fallen, blinded by spite Same God, same ground, same chance to obey But obedience is costly, pride wants its way Hook: Two brothers, one heart, one altar, one God One brought faith, one brought pride to the job Abel gave his best, Cain gave leftovers Jealousy crept in, now the ground cries over Sin at the door, God said “Master that flame” But Cain let it rule, now history knows the name Verse 2: God warned Cain, “Sin’s crouching near” Like a beast at the door feeding off fear “Rule over it, don’t let it take your soul” But envy whispered lies, took control Cain said “Come walk,” out into the field Premeditated murder, first blood spilled No sword mentioned, just rage and hands Brother on brother, death in the land Abel’s blood crying from the dirt below Justice don’t sleep, God already know Verse 3: “Where’s your brother?” Cain said “I don’t know” “Am I my brother’s keeper?” — heart cold But God hears what man tries to hide The ground opened up, testimony cried Cursed from the soil, restless and torn Marked by mercy though judgment was born Even then grace in the midst of the fall God could’ve ended him, but didn’t at all A warning to us in this modern age Unchecked jealousy still leads to graves Bridge: It’s deeper than murder, it’s worship and trust Do you give God your best or what’s easy and rushed? Is your heart pure when you step to the plate Or you serving Him last, calling it faith? Hook (Final): Two brothers, one heart, one altar, one God One brought faith, one brought pride to the job Abel’s blood speaks, still calling today Righteous by faith is the only way Sin at the door, but Christ broke the chain No more Cain’s curse, Jesus bore the pain Outro (Prayer): Lord guard our hearts from envy and hate Teach us to love before it’s too late Make us our brother’s keeper in truth We choose faith like Abel, not pride’s poison fruit In Jesus’ name, amen. #cainandabel #traviswuest #christianrap #god #jesus @rapfame_official @rapfame_ar_team
