Life is hard, Hope I make it, It’s a risk, But I’ll take it, Feeling like I’m living Stuck in the basement, I’m just trying To get a higher placement, Life is hard, But I’ll make it, I can’t wait a long time I’m anxious, I’ve just gotta get off The pavement, So they hear me across The nation, Life is hard. not trying to replace the faces that I see in my mind all the time I just don't want to rhyme about everything I seeLate nights, I’m staring at the ceiling, Got this weight on my heart, it’s hard to feel it, Missing my daughter, her laughter in the air, Every moment we shared, it’s like a breath of prayer. Fiancée’s smile, it lights up my soul, But the distance between us, it’s taking a toll, Wishing for the days when we’d laugh and play, Now I’m counting the hours, just to see their faces sway. Memories flood back like a river in my mind, Every tick of the clock feels like I’m running blind, Dreams of family dinners, love wrapped in a hug, But the silence in the room, it’s like a heavy drug. So I pen these lines, let the ink run free, Pour my heart on the page, it’s my therapy, Hope they know I’m fighting, through the pain and strife, Just to hold them close, yeah, that’s my real life.
