Most Dangerous
Swimming with the bull sharks. My mom lived by the Sigatoka river in Fiji Islands. When us family my parents, sisters and I used to visit my grandparents and uncles during our school holidays we always went for a swim. My mom grew up swimming with the bull sharks one of the top three most dangerous sharks known to planet earth. Once my aunts were washing clothes in the Sigatoka river while I was standing in knee height water and a bull shark showed up. Which smelled my feet and left. I still remember my aunts running away but I stood still until the bull shark had left. My mom tells me that’s where once the bull sharks attacked my grandfather’s horse. They killed the horse in minutes. Summer season. In the same river us cousins used to catch clams and play tag. Dakuwaqa is a shark God native Fijians pray to and during that time nobody can fish which is called “Sigatabu.” My auditory hallucinations once came up with something they called a “pussy shark game.” Because a young bull shark didn’t attack me while they are known to mostly attack in shallow waters my mom says they don’t usually attack natives. Which are my grandparents side of the family. I believe Dakuwaqa saved me. Our Vitogo river is also a habitat to bull sharks. Though where we lived there was no way of them swimming that far up. I have swam where they were present once.
