love and happiness is an illusion

(Verse 1)  Yeah, they paint a picture, love’s a canvas,  But every stroke’s a lie, man, it’s all a madness,  Chasing shadows, thinking happiness is near,  But in this funhouse mirror, I see my greatest fear.  (Verse 2)  Smiles on the surface, but the cracks run deep,  Got me questioning the promises that never keep,  Like a puppet on a string, I dance to the tune,  But the melody’s a trap, I’m lost in the gloom.  (Verse 3)  Whispers in the night, they echo in my mind,  Love’s a fleeting ghost, always hard to find,  Wrapped in illusions, I’m stuck in this maze,  Searching for the light in a fog of the haze.  (Verse 4)  So tell me what’s real when the heart’s in disguise,  Caught in a cycle of truth and lies,  Happiness a mirage, fading with the sun,  In this game of life, man, we’re all on the run.
