Ratnakar

Ratnakar was a thug. He robbed people going through the jungle. He never told his family about how he makes his income. One day Lord Narad showed up. He asked Ratnakar to go home and tell his family how he makes his income and ask to share his sins with them. The family said we they will not take his sins. Ratnakar was devastated. When he returned back Lord Narad gave him something to chant. The name of Lord Ram. Ratnakar couldn’t even do that. Because he kept saying mara which means dead. Though sometimes a Ram would come out of that. “Ulta naam japa jag jana, valmiki bhaye brahm samana.” Even by chanting the name of the Lord wrong Ratnakar became same as God. He became Valmiki. The first person to write the Hindu religious scripture Ramayan in Sanskrit. Before Lord Ram even took a form on planet earth.
