I should’ve known and realize some family they don’t keep it 100
I should’ve known and realize some family they don’t keep it 100 I should’ve known, the signs were clear, Family ties twisted, filled with fear, Smiles on their faces, but knives in their backs, Cash rules everything, watch how they act. Thought we were tight, but loyalty’s a ghost, Every Thanksgiving, I’m just a host, They feast on my kindness, drain every drop, When I’m down in the gutter, they don’t even stop. I gave ‘em my heart, they turned it to stone, Truth in their eyes, but lies on the phone, Counted on ‘em, but they played like a game, Now I’m cutting the ties, they ain’t worth the pain. Lessons learned, yeah, I’m sharper than before, Trust is a treasure, but they’re robbing the store, I should’ve known better, but the heart’s blind, Now I’m moving forward, leaving them behind.
