Underwater

As a child growing up in Fiji I mostly hung around with older people. Once in the river two of my neighbours who were older boys and my sugarcane workers son who was my age were standing in knee height water and having conversations. Suddenly I realized that my sugarcane workers son is underwater drowning. I picked him up and took him to the side of the river. That’s the day I found out that people can also drown in shallow waters. I was a young kid about 9 years old. When you learn from your experience. It’s a little harder than when you learn from what you have been told.
