Some days I wake up The light hits my eyes I lay here dazed Looking out at the morning sky Feeling restless I just want to slip back Into senseless dreams Where I never know who I'm gonna see Or where I'm going to be what are we fighting today? Videogame frame, brick in the wall I love to be somewhere new subliminal fabrications, my mind trying to read between the lines I love seeing places I've been back to a few times So many scenes, backdrops for my mind to play upon Lost in dreamland Taking it scene by scene Swimming up river, or sitting somewhere by the sea It's nice to see you there next to me For a while Then when I wake up. It's all gone Except this feeling and that beautiful smile In my dreams I can become a bird and fly away survey the terrain below me, nothing to weigh me down today But really I know I'll always tread upon the ground Dreams may be nice for a while But I've always got to get back to reality Day by day passes my by Im not sure how to break away From this cycle I'm caught in Daydream, dreamland, real life wakeup, eat, sleep Doesn't matter it seems I'm not going anywhere Doesn't really matter where I am It's just up, up, up then down, down, down Same shit different day, all around. I can't worry about it ive always gotta keep moving nothing in life is constant ive got nothing i need to prove see What may have been may never be again So I do what I can do today And I always dream big Just a few things I'm trying to chase off my mind these days. I think a lot of thoughts And I speak a lot of words Where does it all lead? What does it all mean? Working on some big goals, Trying to think outside of the box. Some days my muses dance for me But other days I'm struggling just to find matching socks Im so damn grateful for every bad choice that got me here Cuz who would I be without my character flaws Every choice has lessons for us to hear, And only by embracing these lessons, And applying patience. Will I get from here to there. So I'll sit back, got my cards held back. Trying to find some good times Keeping my head up, See I'm a role model now How do you like that?
