Iron Cedar – "Legacy Over Hype"

Iron Cedar – "Legacy Over Hype" (Intro) Yeah... Iron Cedar. Black Sheep Records. This one for my mama. For everybody who survived the storm. (Verse 1) Crazy how they taking kids while I'm searching for a place to live, Sleeping under heavy skies, asking God, "Is this the life You give?" Rebounds taught me lessons, never counted all the losses, Found my feet in church, now I'm standing where the cross is. Fell down seven times, but I got up eight again, Had to rewrite every chapter, every page, every pen. Never thought I'd make it till I built it with these hands, Now every rhyme's another brick inside the house that I planned. Studied from Genesis all the way to Revelation, Matthew, John, and Paul became my daily motivation. Isaiah showed me hope could still rise from the ashes, When the smoke finally cleared, I stopped living in the past tense. (Hook) I'm chasing legacy, I ain't living off the hype, Pain turned into purpose every time I grabbed the mic. Iron Cedar standing tall through the darkest night, If I fall, I'll rise again—God already showed me life. (Verse 2) Watching headlines, hearing bombs over Israel and Palestine, Praying for the innocent while trying to protect my mind. Feels like the world's on fire, everybody choosing sides, So I stepped inside the booth before the truth could ever die. This ain't entertainment, this confession through the speakers, Every scar became a lesson, every setback made me deeper. I ain't chasing clout, I'm trying to leave something that lasts, So when they say my name, they'll remember truth before the cash. (Verse 3) I don't gotta fake a story, I don't gotta sell no drama, I'd rather tell the whole world everything about my mama. She brought me home when she needed someone by her side, Now I'm back in Wisconsin with nothing left to hide. She's seventy years strong, I'd walk through fire or ice, Cross the coldest roads alive just to pay her sacrifice. She gave me life before I ever wrote a rhyme, So every verse I leave behind is thanking her with mine. If it wasn't for my mama, I wouldn't breathe today, That's why I leave my honesty on every track I make. This is Iron Cedar—heart over the fame, Building something real so they'll always know my name. (Outro) No gimmicks. No pretending. Just truth. Iron Cedar. Black Sheep Records. Legacy over hype... every single time.
