Pain Don’t Last” Verse 1 Late nights, I was talking to the ceiling, asking God if He hear me Everybody said they loved me, then they disappeared when life got scary Had a smile on my face, but deep inside I was barely breathing I done took so many losses, now it’s hard to believe in healing Mama told me keep my keep it up, never let the world break my soul Even when my heart got cold, I still found a way to grow I was standing in the rain, hoping one day the sun would shine Had to learn that every blessing come with patience and with time Hook I know pain don’t last forever, I just gotta hold on Been through storms my whole life, but somehow I’m still strong If they leave then let ‘em leave, I can’t beg nobody to stay God got something better waiting, so I’m praying every day I know tears fall down sometimes, but they water dreams to grow Had to lose a couple people just to find myself for sure When the nights get cold and lonely, I just look up to the sky ’Cause I know He writing blessings even when I ask Him why Verse 2 I ain’t chasing all the fame, I just wanna make my people proud Turn these scars into a story, let my voice speak through the crowd If I ever make it out, I’m bringing everybody with me Never switching on the ones that showed real love when life got risky Every scar became a lesson, every tear became a prayer I was fighting all my demons, felt like nobody was there Now I’m walking with my faith, I ain’t looking back again ’Cause the same pain that almost broke me made me who I am in the end.
