I cannot afford both Pick one and lie to yourself later, that’s the code We live by now, just scan and go, avoid the old Lady in the checkout line who want to talk your ear off ‘Bout 1994, back when the rent was fair and People said “good morning” without checking if you cared first Now we all just wear headphones like they’re armor I saw a kid fall off his bike and pop right up laughing No tears, just shook it off and kept on traffic dashing When did we unlearn that? Now we crash and start drafting Lawsuits in our heads before we even check the scratches My plants died cause I loved them too much, overwatered Same way I do people, drown them when I’m feeling bothered Then act confused when they don’t bloom the way I ordered Maybe love ain’t supposed to come with all these quarters
