Josh’s Journey: The Boy Who Kept Walking
Once there was a boy named Josh, With a heart so big and wide. But he lived within a stormy house, With nowhere left to hide. The people meant to keep him safe Were the ones who brought the rain, They left him marks upon his skin, And filled his days with pain. He stood against the cold, hard wall, While his world fell all apart, The belt, the burns, the heavy words, Left scars upon his heart. He loved his brothers, sisters too, The "mistake" they said he’d be, But he knew he was a warrior, Who deserved to be set free. At twelve, he climbed a mountain high, He fought and won his case. He found a home in foster care, A much more peaceful place. But then the road got rocky, And the shadows tried to stay, A girl who locked his spirit up, And took his friends away. A night of blades and heavy loss, A friend who couldn't stay, Josh promised him he’d live his life, And find a better way. But loneliness is heavy, Josh, Like a thousand ton of bricks, When people judge and people hurt, And play their cruelest tricks. He almost reached the finish line, He almost said "goodbye," But then he chose to talk out loud, And give it one more try. The fear is real, the house is quiet, The past is hard to flee, But his siblings are the golden stars, He’s grateful just to see. The boy has grown into a man, Through fire, blood, and tears. He’s survived a hundred lifetimes, In just a few short years. So hold your head up, Josh, my friend, The sun is bound to show, You’ve walked through hell and kept your soul You’ve got so much further to go.
