Cosmic Déjà Vu by Dream Relic x_1_ Sex is not everything. poem by Joy Payne

Collaboration with Joy Payne and Dream Relic [Verse] You laugh and I swear I’ve heard that sound, a thousand lifetimes folding into now. Your hand already knows my name, like pages highlighted in a book we never claimed. Cosmic déjà vu, I’ve been here before with you. Every heartbeat feels like an old truth, in this strange familiar room. I remember what we’ll do, but love alone won’t pull us through. Cosmic déjà vu, finding home in what we once knew. I want to love you, but you gave me nothing real, no heart, no depth, no reason to feel. You wanted the surface, the moment, the thrill, but I needed a friend, a soul, a will. I walked away and chose a clearer view, toward God, toward peace, toward something true. If you move on, then maybe you’ll see not every echo is meant to be. [Rap] Yeah, I heard the same line in a different disguise, same empty touch, same hollow eyes. You said “stay,” but your actions said “leave,” I was holding on while you’d never believe. Now I’m brand new, no chains, no fear, God gave me vision, made the path clear. This ain’t about games, this ain’t about lust, sex is not everything, love needs trust. If you want my heart, bring more than a flame, bring truth, bring care, bring more than a name. I’m not what you throw away and replace, I’m a whole new life with a holy grace. [Verse] That crack in the ceiling looks like a map I drew as a kid, your face in the lamplight is just a picture I once hid. You say the perfect sentence I heard in a dream last June, I’m late to my own future, arriving right on cue. My life has changed, I feel so brand new, and all I can say is I hope you do too. In God I trust, He’ll change me through, so if you find your way, maybe you will too. Cosmic déjà vu, I’ve been here before with you. Every heartbeat feels like an old truth, in this strange familiar room. I remember what we’ll do, but now I know what I must choose. Cosmic déjà vu, finding home in what we once knew.
