Here's a song I came up with, inspired by the theme of pain *Verse 1* you said it's alright but am here panicking In the silence, I hear your voice Whispers of memories, a heartfelt choice To hold on to hope, to let go of pain But tears fall like rain, and I'm left with this strain *Chorus* Beyond the door, there's peace, I'm sure No more tears in heaven, no more pain to endure But here on earth, I'm left to grieve Longing for the day, I can breathe *Verse 2* Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees Time can break your heart, leave you begging please For just one more moment, one more chance To turn back time, to make a different stance *Chorus* Beyond the door, there's peace, I'm sure No more tears in heaven, no more pain to endure But here on earth, I'm left to grieve Longing for the day, I can breathe *Bridge* Would you know my name, if I saw you in heaven? Would it be the same, or would time be forgiven? I'd hold your hand, and we'd walk side by side In a place where love never dies *Chorus* Beyond the door, there's peace, I'm sure No more tears in heaven, no more pain to endure But here on earth, I'm left to grieve Longing for the day, I can breathe This song is a reflection on the pain of losing someone you love and the longing for a place where there's no more suffering. The lyrics are inspired by Eric Clapton's song "Tears in Heaven," which he wrote after the loss of his son Conor.¹ ²
